The meeting chaired by Oscar Fernandes also discussed current the political scenario and the strategy for a series of elections ahead, said a senior party functionary. A similar meeting, which took place on Thursday could not finalized the broader points to be incorporated into the agenda. All the current political issues including Indo-US civilian nuclear deal were finalized in today's meeting, which would be placed before the CWC meeting at parliament annexe tomorrow morning.
According to party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed assembly elections in six states, political situation in the country, Indo-US nuclear deal, reduction in of inflation, amongst others would be the part of the agenda of the meeting.
All party general secretaries, CWC members, CLP leaders, secretaries and PCC presidents would participate in the daylong deliberations. The party President Sonia Gandhi would chair the meeting.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and union ministers too would be participating in the CWC meeting, which is the first after the country got a waiver at the 45-member elite Nuclear Suppliers group meeting held in Vienna. The Congress has projected the waiver as a victory of the foreign policy of the UPA government led by the party. Ahmed said around 150 delegates would participate in the deliberations. (EON)

New Delhi: Top officials of the Congress held a meeting Friday morning and finalized the agenda for the Saturday's meeting of the Congress Working Committee. The main focus of the agenda is to formulate a strategy for the forthcoming elections to the six assemblies and parliament.
