For the first time in several years, city of Lucknow witnessed so many Congress workers brought from all over the state and the presence of party MPs in the demonstration, which was noticed by the political analysts.

Congress leader Surendra Rajput says that successful rallies of Rahul Gandhi in various parts of UP so far and leadership of AICC general secretary UP in-charge Madhusudan Mistri and UPCC President Nirmal Khattri enthused party workers to face lathi-charge from Akhilesh Yadav police on the street of state capital.

Such impressive turn out from Congress workers was required to boost the confidence of party before Lok Sabha polls.

The main person responsible for making this happen in UP is none other than Madhusudan Mistri who believed in strengthening the party organisation at ground level and then put it to action.

For the past few months, Madhusudan Mistri who has the experience of working at grass root level in Gujarat was busy in touring various parts of state and talked directed to party workers.

Mistri has deviated from his predecessors who believed in visiting places and holding one big meeting and return back to state capital or New Delhi. On the contrary to this practice, Madhusduan Mistri visited various parts of state and interacted with local office-bearers, including ordinary workers, and enthused them to work for party at booth level.

UP Congress under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi and Madhusudhan Mistri underwent overhauling at district levels where new DCC and CCP were installed.

Even for the selection for Lok Sabha candidates for the first time after so many years importance is being given to recommendation at district level.

Veteran Congress leader Satya Deo Tripathi said that for the fist time party had made local leader important in decision-making process.

Enthused by the success of the demonstration UPCC President Nirmal Khatrri said that it was beginning of final battle with Akhilesh Yadav government for implementation of Food Security Act 2013.

Senior political analyst Dr Ramesh Dixit said that the impressive turn out for demonstration would act as ‘sanjivini’ for Congress party which had been demoralised after poor performance in 2012 assembly polls. (IPA)
