Much significance is being attached to Mulayam’s interaction with his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav and all his ministers at party headquarters.

Aware of sharp infighting, an angry Mulayam Singh Yadav warned all his party ministers that they should shun groupism in the party especially in their respective areas. He asked them to sink differences with local leaders and candidates.

SP President made it clear that the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections were very important for him and the party to play role of king maker at the centre and grab the power.

Mulayam told party ministers that they should think that he was contesting from every constituency and ensure victory of each candidate

Samajwadi Party supremo warned his ministers that if any candidate lost in their segment then it would amount to be dissatisfaction of local people against them. After the polls, new MLA would be give chance in the cabinet to become minister.

Mulayam Singh Yadav asked all his ministers to visit every part of constituency including villages and tell people about the work done by Akhilesh Yadav government

Samajwadi Party supremo also constituted 18-membr election committee headed by his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav who is also state president of the party senior cabinet ministers Shivpal Yadav and Gyatri Prasad Prajapati who is OBC face of the party, would be members.

The election committee of Samajwadi Party would look into all aspects regarding the election involving ministers and party MLAs.

Keeping elections in mind, Akhilesh Yadav government took populist decisions recently benefiting different section of society.

Significantly, the state cabinet approved Samajwadi Pension Scheme for 40 lakh families in the state. State government spokesman said that one out of every 10 persons in the state would be beneficiary of the scheme. According to scheme Rs 500 per month would be given to each family and it would be increased by Rs 50 per month every year for five years provided the set guidelines were properly followed. After five years, the pension would become Rs 750 per month.

Similarly the state government also announced that services of 1.7 lakh shiksha mitra would be regularized. These shikshak mitras would be given proper training.

In order to win over backwards and OBCs, the state government also decided to increase the creamy layer income from Rs 5 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh per annum under the provision of the UP Other Backward Classes Act of 1994.

Keeping in mind minorities’ welfare, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also announced several sops for madarsa teachers. The honorarium of madarsa teachers has been substantially raised.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who recently attended state level conference of madarsa teachers said that his government is committed to skill development of all section of society including minorities.

Much significance is also being attached to statement of cabinet minister Mohd Azam khan who said that his party would take up the issue of reservation for Muslims in next session of Lok Sabha. (IPA)
