Senior BSP leader and considered be trusted lieutenant of Mayawati, Jugul Kishore, Rajya Sabha MP and in charge of Delhi and Bihar levelled serious charges against Mayawati like demanding Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore for Lok Sabha and assembly seats in reserved category. He alleged that all party leaders and coordinators including legislators have been asked to collect funds and hand over the amount to Mayawati on her birthday on January 15.

Earlier former MP Dara Singh Chauhan who is considered to be the backward face of BSP too alleged that party supremo Mayawati had bee selling party tickets for big money even to party loyalists and workers. In November last year, Rajya Sabha member Akhilesh Das had also levelled the charges relating to selling of tickets by the party supremo.

Similarly, former MP from Salempur, Ramashankar Rajbhar too had revolted against Mayawati and accused her of selling party tickets. The party leaders close to Mayawati are worried at these developments since the supreme has given strict warning to the party leaders that they should not talk to media about inner party developments.

There is realization in party rank and file that BSP was losing its support not only in upper caste but in its core vote bank too. During last Lok Sabha polls, the BSP lost a good chunk of its support base of dalits to the BJP. And now in the last seven months, BJP, Samajwadi Party as also the Congress have made all efforts to improve their respective dalit bases at the cost of BSP.

So much so, during last assembly by-elections, Samajwadi Party played aggressive dalit card by giving tickets to members of scheduled castes and ensure their victory as well.

During a three-day meeting of RSS in Lucknow, a strategy was chalked out to win over dalits at grass root level by holding meeting and sharing meals with them.

During last few years, BJP is also working on a strategy by supporting dalits wherever they were at the receiving ends in the violence especially with Muslims. So much so, senior BJP leaders like Hukum Singh launched agitation in support of dalits and went to jail.

Following directives from Rahul Gandhi, Congress party is also busy in making inroads in dalits to win back traditional vote bank of the party which was taken away away by BSP founder Kansi Ram several years ago.

At a time when rival political parties were making sincere efforts to win over dalits, BSP supremo Mayawati is cut off from party leaders as well as from the public. While all political parties are having their own programmes for dalits, BSP supreme Mayawati has given no instruction to her supporters and this has angered the dalit supporters .Political observers feel that the present inaction of the BSP will adversely affect the fortunes of the party in the coming assembly elections in 2017.Both SP and BJP will benefit at the cost of BSP.
