Much significance is being attached to the observations of Mulayam Singh Yadav at the meeting of ministers and party MLAs at the party headquarters.
An angry Mulayam Singh Yadav said that he failed to understand as why the chief minister was not removing those ministers who were involved in the corruption.
Mulayam went ahead with his attack saying that he had told chief minister on previous occasions too about the corrupt ministers but he failed to understand as to why they were still continuing.
Accepting inaccessibility of the chief minister, Mulayam said that there was no system that party worker and legislators could directly meet Mr Akhilesh Yadav.
Acknowledging the complaints of corruption against the state bureaucrats, Mulayam said that it was high time corrupt officers should be removed.
This is not the first time that Mulayam Singh Yadav made such observations against the style of functioning of his own son who is the youngest chief minister in the country.
Ever since Mulayam Singh Yadav made his own son Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister of UP, he is behaving like an older watchdog who never hesitates to criticise the chief minister publicly. He never hesitates to say if people were not happy then it would be difficult to return in 2017 assembly polls.
Significantly, Governor Ram Naik while releasing his own performance card for the last six months, observed that law and order had deteriorated during last six months. He further said that there was rise in crimes also during last six months.
Giving jolt to Akhilesh Yadav government on the issue of corruption, Governor Ram Naik said that he had sent the recommendations of Lok Ayukt to take action against certain former ministers, bureaucrats and officers to Akhilesh Yadav government. It was expected that government would inform the Lok Ayukt about the action taken within three months.
When no action was taken within the stipulated time, then Lok Ayukt sent the reminder to the governor who again sent the report to the government for action. The governor observed that the chief minister and the chief secretary had sent explanatory memorandum in 10 out of 20 cases. And the Governor directed his staff to place the explanatory memorandum before UP Legislature.
Senior political analyst Dr Ramesh Dixit said that state had very high expectations from young and dynamic chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. He said that Akhilesh Yadav should take action on corruption cases and remove corrupt ministers and bureaucrats as the people of the state were watching and would vote accordingly in 2017 assembly polls.
