Talking to IPA, Mr Anjan said that Akhilesh Yadav government has not given proper compensation to farmers affected by the recent unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm all over the state. He further said the recent rainfall resulted in massive damage to crops.

Launching attack on Akhilesh Yadav for minimising the loss deliberately, Akhilesh Yadav government had earlier said that damage affected area was very high but after talking to central government it was brought down.

Atul Anjan said the entire opposition had raised the issue of minimizing the loss to crops in both the houses of UP Legislature.

Taking up the cause of sugarcane farmers, Atul Anjan said that the total arrears of private sugar mill owners had shop up to Rs 3000 crores. Anjan further alleged that the government apathy toward farmer was evident from the fact that government made no attempt to force sugar mill owners to give the arrears to farmers.

CPI leader also launched attack on Akhilesh Yadav government for slow pace of industrialisation and poor investment from outside UP.

Anjan said that government should declare to how many MoUs had actually been translated into proper work and what was the status of ATRs (action taken report). Anjan said people of the state wanted to know details about each MoU singed with industrial and corporate houses.

CPI leader said that CM Akhilesh Yadav’s promise for supplying power for 18 hours a day to the farmers should not become a joke. He further said that government should take the issue of power generation and uninterrupted supply seriously. (IPA Service)
