SACKING OF SUELLA BRAVERMAN BY PM RISHI SUNAK IS SURE TO ANGER RIGHT AMONG TORY PARTY

FORMER HOME MINISTER MAY EMERGE AS THE MAIN CHALLENGER TO PM AFTER 2024 POLLS
Nitya Chakraborty - 2023-11-14 12:08
The sacking of the Home Minister Suella Braverman by the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday was not unexpected as the feisty Home Minister was ignoring all the indications from the PM office for diluting her Islamophobic tone on the Israel-Hamas war which came for strong criticism even from right wing moderate Tories Her latest comment after the Saturday’s massive demonstration against the Israel’s Gaza war and in favour of the Palestinians, was the last straw. Any further tolerance by the PM of the indiscipline of his senior cabinet member, would have ruptured his authority as the Prime Minister.

Kalyani Shankar - 2023-11-13 13:06
How do the Indian origin American presidential hopefuls fare in the 2024 polls? With a year before 2024, they are far behind Republican leader and former President Donald Trump. It is noteworthy that Trump has a significant lead over other contenders, which could make the race more competitive and exciting. No one said they would win the presidential nomination from their parties, as the gap between them and Trump was vast. Ultimately, Trump and President Biden will be chosen as the official candidates.

AFTER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL ‘DEBATE,’ AMERICANS HAVE REASONS TO BE VERY AFRAID

THE CONTESTANTS COMPETED WITH EACH OTHER WITH THEIR RIGHT WING ANTI-PEOPLE AGENDA
John Wojcik - 2023-11-13 11:56
The debates by the Republican primary candidates, up until Wednesday night, were often sleepers, where the contestants spent most of their time tussling with one another on personal matters and not addressing any important issues. This time, however, they departed from this approach and put forward substantial proposals, most of which would push the world closer than ever to World War III and, here at home, destroy the social safety net.

In a significant development toward easing the ongoing conflict in Gaza, a meeting took place on Thursday at an elegant white-domed palace in Qatar. This gathering marked a hopeful moment after a month of intense, behind-the-scenes diplomacy.

Ashis Biswas - 2023-11-10 12:06
For Bangladesh, an inexorable decline of its economy during the last couple of years has added to the present tensions it faces in its uneasy relationship with the US. This has rendered the position of the ruling Awami League (AL) politically more vulnerable as it continues its pre-election campaign for the 2024 Parliamentary elections.

ISRAEL-HAMAS WAR ENTERS SECOND MONTH WITH NO INDICATION OF CEASEFIRE

CIVILIAN CASUALTIES ARE MOUNTING AS NETANYAHU IS DETERMINED FOR FIGHT TO FINISH
Girish Linganna - 2023-11-10 10:50
The world was awakened a month ago to the deadliest attack Israel has ever faced. Operationally, Israel was responding to an attack by Hamas, the organisation that governs the Gaza Strip, by conducting operations within the Palestinian territory. The second month of the Israeli-Hamas confrontation is about to begin. According to Israeli data released on October 7, the massacre in Israel claimed 1,400 lives - in a nation of slightly over 9 million people. The majority of the victims were civilians, killed at a rave in the desert and their homes close to the Gaza Strip border. The country was split between grief, rage, and protests. Regarding the 240 persons, not just Israelis, who were abducted and carried into the Gaza Strip by terrorists, there hasn't been any news for a month. A female soldier was freed during a raid, and four hostages have been set free.
