Most Congress members revel in fond belief that Priyanka the grand daughter of Indira Gandhi would soon revive the Indian National Congress to widen opportunities for it to be in power corridors. Little they realize that the party is reduced to be only a page of history for the two generations of the post Independence. They constitute to be ninety per cent of Indians. Adoration of the family by the Congress party is mainly responsible for their pathetic condition. It does not allow them to escape the set mould of personalized politics. They are unable to see the reality. With higher rate of literacy and craving for dignity of life ensures futility of their political stance of enticing the voters with freebies and offers of cheap services. Their stance has origins in their misreading of the political events connected with the 1971 elections. Most politicians believe that the miracle of her grand mother trouncing her syndicated opponents, mostly of right wing was on basis of her promise to end poverty. They overlook two major events that gave her image of a strong willed Indian woman.
