NARENDRA MODI HAS SOME SUCCESSES IN FOREIGN POLICY BUT FAULTS ARE EQUALLY BIG

FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE INDIAN GOVT MOVES HAVE ENCOURAGED COMMUNAL DIVISION OF DIASPORA
Girish Linganna - 2024-03-28 11:02
As India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up for the upcoming parliamentary elections to seek his third term, he will base his electoral campaign on highlighting the various ways in which he has brought about significant changes and development in India over the past ten years. India’s electoral debate rarely includes discussions on foreign policy, but Narendra Modi has been a unique exception to this trend.

COMMUNIST PARTIES MUST LEARN FROM JNU’S NATURE OF LEFT ALLIANCE

UNITY OF TRADITIONAL LEFT WITH DALITS GAVE A NEW DIMENSION TO CAMPAIGN
Arun Srivastava - 2024-03-28 11:00
AISA's Dhananjay, the first dalit student leader getting elected as president of the JNU Students Union after 27 years, certainly merits exultation by the left anti-rightist forces. But more than this, it is also a matter of circumspection for the traditional left parties and their leaders for abdicating their responsibility and in the process allowing the political structure to become repressive for the common people.

2024 LOK SABHA ELECTION IS A HISTORIC BATTLE AGAINST THE ADVENT OF FASCISM IN INDIA

WARNING SIGNS MENTIONED BY MAHUA MOITRA IN 2019 ARE MORE PROMINENT AFTER FIVE YEARS
Nitya Chakraborty - 2024-03-27 11:51
The 18th Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held from April 19 to June 1 this year in seven phases have assumed historic importance in the past 73 years of the functioning of parliamentary democracy in India since the holding of the first Lok Sabha polls in 1951-52. The Narendra Modi government in the last ten years has eroded the basic ethos of the Indian constitution and has extended its authoritarianism to facilitate an opposition-mukt Lok Sabha polls.

IN LOK SABHA POLLS IN PUNJAB, AAP IS ADVANTAGEOUSLY PLACED AS AGAINST ITS THREE RIVALS

CONGRESS IS SUFFERING FROM DEFECTIONS WHILE BJP AND SAD ARE GOING SOLO
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2024-03-27 11:48
Having arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal in an excise case on March 21, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now begun raids at Punjab Excise and Taxation Commissioner on March 27. The latest ED action is largely perceived as political in the state as it has come only after the BJP state chief Sunil Kumar Jakhar’s demand for a probe into Punjab’s excise policy as well. Similar to the action in Delhi, Punjab’s excise policy has been under ED’s scanner for quite some time now, but the actions being taken by Modi government just before the Lok Sabha election have made people to believe it political and AAP its victim. The more AAP governments are targeted, the stronger they are becoming with public sympathy.

HULLABALOO ABOUT ELECTORAL BONDS MAY END UP AS A WHIMPER PRE AND POST POLL

PUBLIC MEMORY IS DISTURBINGLY SHORT, SO THE CULPRITS GET AWAY EASILY
K Raveendran - 2024-03-27 11:45
The big noise about electoral bonds will in all probability end up in a whimper like the investigations into the 2G spectrum scam, both of which can be compared in terms of scale and the extent of mischief. Both scams are likely to remain a dark symphony of secrecy, favours, and hidden agendas in contemporary Indian politics.

ARVIND KEJRIWAL GETS INTERNATIONAL HEFT AGAINST THE DESHI VISHWAGURU

MODI GOVT USES FOREIGN INTERFERENCE IN INTERNAL AFFAIRS AGAINST KEJRIWAL
Sushil Kutty - 2024-03-27 11:39
Acting US Deputy Ambassador Gloria Berbena was at the receiving end of New Delhi’s ire after the US State Department spoke its mind on the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Both the US State Department and Gloria Berbena gave Modi’s millions a chance to thump their “56” chests” as India’s Ministry of External Affairs expressed its “strong displeasure" at the United States’ affront to interfere in India’s internal affairs. But, if Kejriwal is granted bail by the Delhi High Court, will it be termed "foreign interference in India's internal affairs"?
