STALIN CAME TO THE RESCUE OF COMMUNISTS

BUT FOR DMK, LEFT WOULD HAVE GONE ALMOST UNREPRESENTED IN LOK SABHA
K Raveendran - 2019-06-26 11:34
Indian communists’ love for Stalin is well chronicled. In spite of all that the dictator did in the Soviet Union, he has a special place in the hearts of the Marxists. Stalin’s dogma of ‘Socialism in One Country’ is perhaps more endearing to Indian communists than their Soviet comrades. Whether this deep affection brought them tangible political mileage here is a moot question. But it was for a Stalin to rescue the Indian Left from total ignominy in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION MUST FOR MERITORIOUS POOR STUDENTS
Dr. Arun Mitra - 2019-06-26 11:32
The draft of National Education Policy 2019 is in public domain. This means people across the country can give their inputs on this draft before it is discussed in the standing committee followed by debate in the parliament for formal adoption. The document dwells on various aspects and different sectors of the education. Medical education is generally debated along with the national health policy document where general guidelines about the approach are presented. But the present National Education Policy document too has given space to it as ‘Healthcare Education’ in the Clause number 16.8.

SANJIV BHATT’S SENTENCE TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT IS BAD IN LAW

HIGHER COURT MUST OVERRULE THE LOWER COURT VERDICT
Amritananda Chakravorty - 2019-06-25 12:02
On 20th June, 2019, a Jamnagar Sessions Court in Gujarat convicted the former IPS officer, Sanjiv Bhatt, in a case of custodial torture and death in November, 1990, and sentenced him to life imprisonment. On the face of it, this may look like a case of delayed justice, but that is not the case here. Sanjiv Bhatt is a known detractor of the Modi Government in general, and Narendra Modi in particular. In 2011, he had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking transfer of investigation into two FIRs filed against him in Gujarat, in order to falsely implicate him, owing to his deposition before the Special Investigation Team about the role of the then Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, who is the current PM, and the other high functionaries of the Government in the horrific Gujarat riots of February-March, 2002.
