Harihar Swarup - 2024-02-29 11:43
The legal career of Fali Sam Nariman began in 1950, along with the coming into force of the Indian Constitution. In the 74 years for which Nariman and the Constitution co-existed, they were inseparable. From I C Golaknath in 1967, where supreme court held that fundamental rights are beyond the amending powers of the Parliament, to Supreme Court Advocates-on-record vs Union of India case in 2015,where Supreme Court struck down the 99th constitutional amendment to defend the independence of judiciary. CPI AND CPI(M) HAVE TO FOCUS MOST ON IMPROVING LOK SABHA TALLY FROM KERALA

SEAT SHARING WITH CONGRESS IN ANDHRA PRADESH AND ODISHA HAS TO BE PURSUED
Nitya Chakraborty - 2024-02-28 12:13
The stage is set for the holding of the Lok Sabha elections in April/May this year. The two Left parties CPI and the CPI(M) which played a major role in the formation of the Congress led UPA government after the Lok Sabha polls in 2004, are struggling to be relevant in Parliamentary politics. In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the tally of the Left was a total of only five- three by the CPI(M) and two by the CPI. Out of the five, two seats each by the CPI and the CPI(M) were won as a part of the DMK led alliance. That way, on the basis of its own strength, the Left — the CPI(M) got only one seat from Kerala.

CROSS-VOTING IN TUESDAY’S RAJYA SABHA ELECTION IS OMINOUS FOR INDIA BLOC

CONGRESS NEEDS TO EXAMINE ITS ORGANISATIONAL LAPSES TO KEEP ITS FLOCK TOGETHER
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2024-02-28 12:08
No action can be taken against legislators under the anti-defection law or the 10th Schedule of the Constitution of India for cross-voting in Rajya Sabha elections. It made MLAs to cross-vote on as many as 15 Rajya Sabha seats during the elections held on February 27, 2024. It affected the Congress worst, especially in Himachal Pradesh, where the party is now battling for survival for its government. After the election results were out, BJP leaders met Himachal Pradesh governor and apprised him of the latest political situation telling him that Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government has lost support of the majority of legislators.

BJP MAY HAVE MADE TACTICAL MISTAKE TO DRIVE CONGRESS, AAP TO A POINT OF BREAKDOWN

VULNERABILITY HAS FORCED BOTH PARTIES TO BURRY DIFFERENCES AND COME TOGETHER
K Raveendran - 2024-02-28 12:04
The BJP may have made a tactical mistake in driving both AAP in the Delhi excise policy scam and Congress in the income tax imbroglio to the point of breakdown so that the two parties have no mojo left to stick to their respective positions with regard to fighting independently in the Lok Sabha elections. Perhaps, the vulnerability has forced the two parties to concede ground to each other for making seat adjustments possible. In the labyrinthine corridors of Indian politics, vulnerability often shapes alliances and strategic manoeuvres.

TRANSMISSION THROUGH SATELLITES IS EMERGING AS A MAJOR ALTERNATIVE

INDIAN TELECOM COMPANIES ARE EXPECTED TO START OPERATIONS IN 2024
Girish Linganna - 2024-02-28 10:55
Information transmission isn't confined to just cables; it also traverses through the air and space. This method offers robustness in scenarios where cables might malfunction and ensures connectivity to remote locations that are difficult to link. For regions of the world that are challenging to connect, satellites offer a viable solution.

HOW TO BRING DOWN BJP'S PRESENT LOK SABHA SEATS TO 220 IN 2024 LOK SABHA POLLS?

REGIONAL PARTIES ARE READY, ONLY THE CONGRESS HAS TO PERFORM WELL IN HINDI HEARTLAND
Nitya Chakraborty - 2024-02-27 10:52
For the opposition INDIA bloc, after a chilling two months of despair and political setbacks following the desertion of Nitish Kumar led JD(U) and Jayant Choudhury led RLD to NDA, the last seven days of February have brought new optimism in the INDIA ranks. The period beginning February 20 when the Supreme Court installed the AAP candidate as the Mayor of Chandigarh Corporation , has witnessed the conclusion of the electoral alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress for the crucial 80 seats for Lok Sabha in Uttar Pradesh and finally AAP-Congress alliance in Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Goa and the Chandigarh seat.

NITI AAYOG MUST NOT PLAY POLITICS ON HCES 2022-23 DATA TO CONFUSE PEOPLE
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2024-02-27 10:48
Just after publication of Household Consumption Expenditure Survey (HCES: 2022-23) by Nation Sample Survey Office (NSSO), politics on poverty has been initiated on behalf of PM Narendra Modi on the eve of Lok Sabha election 2024 by the top official of the government think tank NITI Aayog, the Chief Executive Officer B. V. R Subrahmanyam. He claimed poverty in the country has come down below 5 per cent, retail inflation has been overstated, and dismissed the narrative that the rural economy is weak and India’s growth story is ‘restricted to a few people’.

SEAT SHARING TALKS BETWEEN INDIA BLOC CONSTITUENTS IS FINALLY GOING WELL

MAHARASHTRA, TAMIL NADU AND BIHAR ARE THE THREE STATES UNDER FOCUS NOW
Kalyani Shankar - 2024-02-27 10:45
The doomsayers had predicted the seat sharing between the partners of the I.N.D.I.A coalition would fail, but they had progressed slowly. The alliance was gradually shaping in some states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The coalition is striving hard to put up a joint candidate against the B.J.P. in the 2024 polls.
