POLICY PARALYSIS LEADING TO CRISIS
Nantoo Banerjee - 2013-04-20 04:12
Unbelievable, but true: India, until recently the world’s 3rd largest exporter of iron ore, has lately imported a lot of this commodity to support domestic steel production. India’s sudden entry into the global iron ore market as an importer has shocked the rest of the world. It is like ‘carrying coal to New Castle’ which is meant to express an archetypally pointless activity or an aberration.

Ashok B Sharma - 2013-04-18 11:22
India’s relationship with Africa is vital in many ways. As a continent of 54 countries, it represents 28 per cent of the membership of the United Nations. Though it is diverse in many ways, one single call emanates and that is the urge for development. India has responded, belatedly, to Africa’s call to be a partner in its development process.

NITISH OUTBURST AGAINST NARENDRA MODI

IS IT A FIXED MATCH?
Upendra Prasad - 2013-04-18 10:54
In this coalition era of Indian politics, some unusual things are going on between JD (U) and BJP, the alliance partners of National Democratic Alliance. It is true that two alliance partners do not need to agree on all matters, because they are two different parties, but at least it is expected of a partner not to indulge in personal attacks on the leaders of another partner party. But what we are witnessing here is the consistent and persistent attack on Gujarat CM Narendra Modi by JD(U) leaders. Narendra Modi is not an ordinary leader of his party. He is heading a state government for more than 11 years and under his leadership his party has won three State Assembly elections in a row.

Praful Bidwai - 2013-04-17 09:24
“Modi moves centre-stage!” “Modi storms in as the BJP’s PM candidate.” “It’s Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi!” “In PM mode, Modi spells out strategy on big issues.” “Modi wants to repay the debt he owes to India by serving the nation” (read, becoming Prime Minister).
