LARGE SCALE DEPLOYMENT OF AI IN ECONOMY WILL LEAD TO MASSIVE UNEMPLOYMENT

TRADE UNIONS HAVE TO LAUNCH UNITED STRUGGLES TO STOP INDISCRIMINATE ADOPTION
Prabhat Patnaik - 2024-06-21 11:41
The fundamental issue raised by Hollywood writers when they had gone on a strike against being replaced by artificial intelligence, somehow receded to the background after the resolution of that particular conflict; but it remains a fundamental issue. Much has been written about the various problems associated with the introduction of AI; but the one that concerns us here relates to the massive unemployment it would generate.

BIZARRE THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN COURTS OVER BAIL OF ARVIND KEJRIWAL

SUNITHA KEJRIWAL IS AT THE CENTRE STAGE EXPOSING CONSPIRACY BY NARENDRA MODI
Sushil Kutty - 2024-06-21 11:38
The one big difference between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is the “wife” factor. Kejriwal’s wife Sunitha Kejriwal appears to be on his side where Modi’s doesn’t appear on Modi’s side. Sunitha Kejriwal was speaking up for Kejriwal when the Enforcement Directorate arrested him on March 21 and speaking for him when he was sent to Tihar. The AAP, which was left to fend for itself, found Sunitha Kejriwal taking charge rather comforting although Kejriwal clarified that he remained Chief Minister and would rule Delhi from Tihar Jail if it came to that.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no mistaking the spring in the walk of Congress leaders in Kerala these days and the sparkle in their eyes. The sense of euphoria is understandable. In January, the websites of nine offshore crypto exchanges including Binance were blocked for not being registered in India and complying with Indian laws. The penalty announced on Thursday paves the way for Binance to resume its operations in India.

BJP-RULED STATES ARE EPICENTRES OF NEET PAPER LEAK SCAM

MODI CAN'T MAKE HEAD OR TAIL OF NEET, DHARMENDRA PRADHAN IS ALL AT SEA
Krishna Jha - 2024-06-20 13:19
There is a clear direct connection of the Ministry of Education in the NEET exam paper leak. The Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan is not ready to resign. The matter has already reached the Supreme Court. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for 2024 has stirred controversy across India, with allegations of a massive scam by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This year, over 23 lakh students faced challenges from paper leaks to questionable exam management, sparking nationwide debates and protests.

U.S. POLICY MAKERS ARE REFUSING TO SEE GLOBAL DIFFUSION OF PRODUCTION

THE SHIFTING OF ECONOMIC POWER HAS MADE THE WHITE HOUSE MORE AGGRESSIVE
Prabhat Patnaik - 2024-06-20 13:14
There has been a significant diffusion of production occurring in the world economy. Many call this phenomenon a shift from a US-led world economy to a “multipolar world economy”, but no matter what one thinks of this description, the fact of diffusion is indubitable. In 1994 for instance the G-7 countries (US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy and Canada) produced 45.3 per cent of world output while the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, together with new members Iran, the UAE, Egypt and Ethiopia) produced 18.9 per cent; by 2022 however the ratios had become 29.3 and 35.2 respectively. (These are World Bank figures quoted by economist Jeffrey Sachs).

MUSK’S ROCKET SCIENCE IS NO GOOD FOR INDIA’S VOTING MACHINES

‘TECH’ MOGUL HAS A PENCHANT FOR MAKING OUTLANDISH CLAIMS
K Raveendran - 2024-06-20 13:02
The opponents of EVMs in India seem to have found a new poster boy in Elon Musk, touting his views on eliminating EVMs as a rallying cry. But the anti-EVM campaigners would do well to ponder if they are barking up the wrong tree?

The rapid growth and strength of security ties between U.S. adversaries have surprised even American intelligence analysts. According to reports from WSJ, Russia and its Axis allies have put aside past disagreements to challenge what they see as a US-dominated global system.

PRIYANKA GANDHI’S DEBUT FROM WAYANAD IS A NEW SIGNAL FOR CONGRESS

KERALA LDF IS DETERMINED TO GIVE A TOUGH FIGHT TO THE RISING STARLET
Sushil Kutty - 2024-06-20 12:40
Raebareli will remain Gandhi family bastion so long as Rahul Gandhi is keen on continuing in politics. So long live Rahul Gandhi, long live the dynasty. That being said, Wayanad is the new go-to parliamentary constituency for the Gandhi family. Amethi lost its sheen for the family when Smriti Irani beat Rahul Gandhi in 2019. Irani’s tryst, however, was curtailed by a caretaker candidate. Amethi will never have a 'Gandhi' testing the electorate in any near future.
