New Delhi: Union Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, will inaugurate the CII NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND ANNUAL SESSION 2011 on April 8 in New Delhi. During the two-day National Conference on the theme ‘Securing the Future: Framework for Inclusive Growth’, senior policymakers, bureaucrats, industry leaders and think-tanks would strive to develop concrete strategies for equitable economic growth of India in a post-recession world, beset with multifarious problems - political uncertainties, economic fragility and natural disasters being just a few.

KOLKATA: The electorate in West Bengal is now sharply polarized between the “No-Changers” and the “Pro-Changers”. The “No-Changers” want the CPI-M-led Left Front to come back to power again – for the eighth time in a row. The “Pro-Changers” – or Pairbartan-panthi in Bengali –want desperately to see an end to the Left Front rule. This rule, in their view, has abridged the democratic space and sought to suppress the voice of the Opposition and has seen the emergence of the armed CPI-M party cadres along with and parallel to the State police force.
