Institutional Framework between NCERT and SCERTs mooted

New Delhi: Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development, has mooted that an institution framework be set up constituting of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs). This framework, could include the CBSE, COBSE and NCTE as invitees, and would be a mechanism for coordination, for continuous flow of information and for dialogue, the focus being on improving quality of education throughout the country, the Minister added.

23 boys and girls to get National Bravery Awards 2010

New Delhi: Eight children from North-Eastern states are among the 23 boys and girls who will receive National Bravery Awards for 2010 from the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at a function in New Delhi on the eve of Republic Day this year. Two Awards will be given posthumously. The Awardees will participate in the Republic Day parade.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Afghanistan's Minister of Finance on Sunday signed two agreements totaling more than $340 million that will lead to the completion of Afghanistan's vital Ring Road and to improvements in the power sector.
