WASHINGTON - The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors has discussed a new four-year Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Côte d'Ivoire, focused on improving governance and rebuilding institutions, strengthening the performance of agriculture, supporting private sector development and renewing infrastructure and basic services. Job creation, particularly for millions of unemployed youth, and increasing opportunities for women, are two key cross-cutting objectives.

$3 Million approved in Additional Financing for Samoan Health Services

WASHINGTON — The World Bank has approved an additional US$3 million in financing for the Samoa Health Sector Management Program (HSMP) Support Project. The funds will assist the Government of Samoa in rebuilding the health sector following last year's tsunami and increase access to quality health services for Samoans.

Canada announced at the meeting of the Committee on Market Access on 29 April 2010 that it had become a tariff-free zone for manufacturing inputs and machinery. It said it was committed to maintaining open markets to help the global economy recover, adding that this unilateral action would help raise the competitiveness of Canadian companies.
