An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Mr. Alejandro Santos visited Santo Domingo during February 1-14 to conduct discussions under the fifth review of the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA), which was approved by the IMF Executive Board in November 2009. The mission met with Vice-President Rafael Alburquerque, as well as members of the Economic and Social Cabinets, senior government officials, and representatives of the international community.

New Delhi: Annual Plan size for Bihar for the year 2011-12 was approved today at a meeting between the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar. The Plan outlay was agreed at Rs.24000 crores.

New Delhi: Indian steel industry witnessed a robust growth during the 10th Plan with significant increases in both production for sale and consumption of total finished steel (alloy + non-alloy) by 9.5% and 10.4% respectively while imports were up by 29% and exports by 14%, said the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Steel, Shri Beni Prasad Verma.

New Delhi: National Investigation Agency has filed charge-sheet against 19 members of the banned terrorist organisation United National Liberation Front (UNLF) of Manipur in the Special Court of National Investigation Agency, Guwahati for their involvement in waging war against the country, raising funds by resorting to large scale extortion from Government as well as private bodies in Manipur and for trying to procure arms and ammunition from foreign countries in FIR no 10/10 under sections 120(B), r/w sections 121, 121(A),122 of IPC ,16, 17, 18,18A, 18B and 20 of UA(P) Act,1967 as amended in 2008.
