Consultative Committee meets to discuss Hydro Power Development in India

Consultative Committee of the Members of Parliament for Power met today in New Delhi to discuss hydro power development in the country with special reference to 11th Plan target. The meeting under the chairmanship of Union Power Minister, Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, called for accelerated growth in hydro power in view of a huge potential yet to be tapped. Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, Minister of State for Power was also present.

Executive Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has observed that Morocco faced the global crisis from a strong position, reflecting in large part the range of macroeconomic and structural reforms introduced over the last decade, and was well-positioned to respond to and weather the crisis. Directors also noted that Morocco's financial system is sound, with limited exposure to international capital markets. Thus, the direct impact of the global crisis on Morocco has been mild, with the economy being affected mainly through real channels as a result of the slowdown in Europe.
