DEFECTION OF LONE CONGRESS MLA IN BENGAL TO TMC ANGERS ALLIANCE PARTNER CPI(M)

LEFT WORKERS QUESTION THE FUTILITY OF ALIGNING WITH THE ‘UNRELIABLE’ PARTY LEADERS
Tirthankar Mitra - 2023-05-31 12:27
Congress-Left Front alliance in West Bengal received an unexpected jolt following the defection of Sagardighi MLA Bairon Biswas to ruling Trinamool Congress. The shake-up coming days before an Opposition meet against BJP in Patna has put the alliance forged in the summer of 2016 under a scanner.

NO REAL TRUCE IS READY AT ENDING GEHLOT-PILOT INFIGHTING IN RAJASTHAN CONGRESS

RAHUL GANDHI HAS TO RING THE FINAL BELL AFTER HIS CURRENT FOREIGN TOUR
Sushil Kutty - 2023-05-31 12:24
The latest Sachin Pilot-Ashok Gehlot patch-up will last till June 8 when disqualified Congress Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi returns from his trip to the United States where the Congress scion will be raising yet another front against Prime Minister Narendra Modi like he had from London the last time he had gone abroad. The Pilot-Gehlot imbroglio will till then simmer on the back-burner like it has been smouldering for years.

POLITICAL OUTCOME FROM COMMUNAL CAULDRON MAY NOT FAVOUR BJP

RISE OF CASTE ASPIRATIONS TO INFLUENCE GENERAL ELECTION 2024
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2023-05-31 12:05
BJP has broken its legs in Karnataka assembly polls when it fell into the pitfalls of majority politics. The party, including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, left no stone unturned to polarize Hindu majority votes in their favour, but miserably failed. BJP’s loss, if translated into Lok Sabha seats, would be about 17 seats, out of 25 they had won in Lok Sabha election 2019. BJP seems to be almost driven out from the Southern states having 129 Lok Sabha seats. Political outcome from communal cauldron of BJP was disheartening for them.

THIS SEEMS A CUNNING MOVE TO CRIPPLE STATE FINANCES BEFORE 2024 POLLS
P. Sreekumaran - 2023-05-31 12:02
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a swift move, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in Kerala has decided to move the Supreme Court challenging the Union Government’s decision to drastically cut the State’s net borrowing ceiling(NBC) on market borrowings for 2023-24.

SLOWDOWN IN CONTAINERIZED EXPORTS POSES SETBACK TO PRO-EXPORT AGENDA

WHILE EXPORT ORDERS DECLINE, IMPORTS ARE INCREASING CONSISTENTLY
K Raveendran - 2023-05-31 11:30
There is a marked slowdown in the containerized exports from India, attributed mainly to a decline in consumer demand for Indian goods in the US, EU and the UK markets, according to data from Container xChange, a leading online platform for container logistics. This trend has impacted the volume of orders received by Indian exporters, resulting in a notable setback in the country’s export performance.

CONGRESS DITHERING OVER SUPPORTING AAP ON ORDINANCE IS HEIGHT OF STUPIDITY

DELHI ORDINANCE IS AGAINST CITIZENS NOT AAP, WILL STAY EVEN IF IT LOSES POWER
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2023-05-30 12:29
Penny wise pound foolish, is a well-known adage, applied to someone trying to save a penny while remaining ignorant of greater loss in that event. The Congress dithering over supporting AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal and his government in Delhi against the Delhi ordinance brought by the Union Government led by PM Narendra Modi reminds us about the adage, as it is reflected in the discourse within the Congress over the issue treating it as merely a political issue between the BJP and AAP in which Congress needs to defend its political interest.

FRESH MANIPUR VIOLENCE EXPOSES FAILURE OF CENTRE AND BJP STATE GOVT

MUCH DEPENDS ON OUTCOME OF HOME MINISTER’S CURRENT TALKS IN IMPHAL
Ashis Biswas - 2023-05-30 12:27
As a fresh spell of mob violence on the night of May 28 shattered the fragile truce between warring non tribal Meitei community and the Kuki tribe in Manipur, official policy failures at several areas could be readily spotted.

NITI AAYOG HAS FAILED TO PLAY ANY EFFECTIVE ROLE IN PLANNING FOR INDIAN ECONOMY

MODI REGIME’S THINK TANK IS NOT GETTING DUE IMPORTANCE FROM NON-BJP GOVTS
Kalyani Shankar - 2023-05-30 12:24
One of the first things Prime Minister Narendra Modi did soon after assuming office nine years ago was dismantling the Planning Commission with a legacy of 65 years and set up the Niti Aayog in January 2015. Even as the chief minister of Gujarat earlier, Modi had some ideas for a stronger Centre-State relationship and reforms. He hoped that Niti Aayog would strengthen this relationship.

BENGAL CONGRESS MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE OVER SOLE MLA’S DEFECTION TO TRINAMOOL

STATE PRESIDENT ADHIR CHOWDHURY’S COMMENTS GO AGAINST OPPOSITION UNITY EFFORTS
Tirthankar Mitra - 2023-05-30 11:45
Bairan Biswas, the lone Congress legislator from Sagardighi, Murshidabad, defecting to Trinamool Congress does not send a signal of unity in the coming days. The defection comes just ahead of a crucial meeting of Opposition parties at Patna to set the stage for an anti-BJP front in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It also marks a new low in West Bengal politics which has been value-based over the decades, till hordes of TMC leaders defected to BJP before 2021 Assembly elections, only to return shamefaced in ashes and sackcloth.
