CONGRESS BUOYED WITH TELANGANA WIN, FINDING IT TOUGH IN ANDHRA PRADESH

CHIEF MINISTER JAGAN MOHAN REDDY HAS BEEN NURSING HIS CONSTITUENCIES FOR LONG
Sushil Kutty - 2023-12-18 11:39
Some of the politically powerful Reddys of Andhra Pradesh have a grouse with fellow Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who also faces anti-incumbency just like K Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana faced and lost. So, the YSR Congress Party is kind of vulnerable right now and the Congress is upbeat after its stupendous Telangana victory. Also, by June next year, Andhra Pradesh would be without a capital city of its own as its lease on Hyderabad, so to speak, will lapse by then and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will be blamed for sitting on this capital issue for a decade.

CAN BJP WIN LOK SABHA ELECTIONS WITHOUT HARD HINDUTVA NARRATIVE?

NARENDRA MODI HAS THE UNIQUE CAPACITY TO ADAPT HIS POLICIES TO MEET THE CHALLENGE
Mriganka M Bhowmick - 2023-12-18 11:37
Since 1989, when the BJP adopted Hindutva as an ideology in the Palampur Resolution, it has consistently propagated it in elections. The RSS has significantly contributed to the evolution of Hindutva as the cultural identity of the nation. With the advent of Modi Politics in 2014, new economic policies, social welfare schemes, a shift in foreign policy, and the consolidation of strong cadre-based organizations have begun assimilating with this ideology. It is largely perceived as part and parcel of Hindutva Politics, even though many of them do not directly correlate with Hindutva ideology. Opposition Politics has started building on the opposite pole to counter Hindutva politics, which essentially encompasses the other policies of Modi. Thus, a bipolar Indian Politics has started embracing the Hard Hindutva narrative at different occasions and, of course, during elections.

Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2023-12-16 12:26
In a written reply on December 11, 2023 in the Lok Sabah during the current winter session, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameshwar Teli claimed that unemployment rate in the country has a declining trend over the year, obviously to give a political message to the electorate in general, and the unemployed youth in particular that the government under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership is performing well on the unemployment front. However, only two days later it was found that 4 out of 6 breaching the parliament security on December 13, were actually distressed on account of unemployment, and one of the arrested woman claimed that she wanted to draw attention of the Modi government.

CONGRESS FOUNDATION RALLY IN NAGPUR MUST SEND STRONG MESSAGE TO RSS

RAHUL GANDHI HAS TO TAKE IDEOLOGICAL BATTLE AGAINST BJP TO GRASSROOTS
Arun Srivastava - 2023-12-16 12:24
Congress having a massive rally in Nagpur to celebrate its foundation day on December 28 is unlikely to have any significant political or electoral bearing on the RSS. Congress was born in Bombay in 1885. But the party leadership chose Nagpur as the venue of celebration for obvious reason to send a message to RSS, which has its command centre there.

TARIFF ON CHINESE GOLD JEWELLERY HELPS U.S. REPLACE UAE AS INDIA’S LEADING EXPORT MARKET

DUTY-FREE ACCESS TO UAE MARKET MAKES INDIAN GOLD JEWELLERY TRADE MORE COMPETITIVE
K Raveendran - 2023-12-16 12:18
The imposition of extra tariff on Chinese gold jewellery exports by the United States has helped the Indian jewellery export trade to dislodge the United Arab Emirates as the country’s leading export market. The tariff on Chinese jewellery has made Indian exporters more competitive on the one hand, while the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and the UAE introduced in 2022 has allowed 90 percent of Indian exports to the UAE duty-free, facilitating re-exports from the UAE to the US. Together these two factors have made the US Indian jewellery’s biggest export market.
