PRIME MINISTER’S SELECTIVE RESPONSE TO MAJOR ISSUES OF NATION IS PERPLEXING

NARENDRA MODI IS YET TO REACT TO CONTINUING DHARNA BY FAMOUS WOMEN WRESTLERS
Sushil Kutty - 2023-04-28 15:43
It is dozens of hours since the wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to their ‘Mann Ki Baat’, perhaps aware that India’s Prime Minister often slips into his default position of hard of hearing. They can get hold of the best German-made hearing aids, but maybe PM Modi is waiting to find the letter on the bed to crack a joke at the expense of MP BBS.

Many of the top wrestlers of the country, including international medal winners, are out protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. They have returned to the spot where they first conducted dharna in January since the government and the sports ministry have not acted on the complaints of sexual harassment made by some women wrestlers against the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP MP, and some of the coaches.

Gyan Pathak - 2023-04-28 06:56
Heatwaves horrors across India has been intensifying chiefly because of unpreparedness in dealing with the worsening heatwave conditions over the years due to heating up of the climate. The death of 13 people in Maharashtra from heatstroke and many others admitted to hospital after attending a government-sponsored event in an open ground under a blazing sun is a glaring example that ultimately compelled the government to order a ban on outdoor events between 12 noon and 5 PM.
