Arun Srivastava - 2022-08-23 15:36
The farmers are again on the battle path against the Narendra Modi Government as the centre did not fulfil its commitment given to the farmers leaders last year before withdrawal of the year long agitation.

KEJRIWAL AND SISODIA CHALLENGING NARENDRA MODI IN GUJARAT POLLS

AAP SUPREMO WITH HIS POTENTIAL BHARAT RATNA DEPUTY GOING NATIONAL
Sushil Kutty - 2022-08-23 15:33
Delhi's New York Times-accredited Education Minister Manish Sisodia is the latest cult figure to invade our minds. And whoever knew Manish Sisodia is a "kshatriya" kept the secret to himself, which was fine because now that we all know, we can look down at the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, who, if the almanacs are not wrong, is lower down in the caste-tree; most definitely a "Vaishya".

REDUCTION OF PRICES OF ESSENTIAL DRUGS IS IMPERATIVE FOR COMMON PEOPLE

PUBLIC SECTOR MANUFACTURING UNITS LIKE IDPL, HAL MUST BE EXPANDED
Dr Arun Mitra - 2022-08-22 16:25
The news that the company producing Paracetamol in the trade name of ‘Dolo’ spent 1000 crore rupees as freebies to the doctors for the promotion of their drug is a matter of concern. It shows the total failure of the government in regulating the pharmaceutical marketing practices. It is well known that Pharma companies spend huge amount of money for promotion of their products. Much of this is spent in organizing medical conferences in the name of continued medical education programmes many a times at lavish scale.

THE THIRD PM FROM NEHRU DYNASTY HAD A DREAM OF BUILDING A MODERN INDIA
Anjan Roy - 2022-08-22 15:43
Had he been alive, Rajiv Gandhi would have been somewhat of an old man today. He would have crossed 78. But he remains for ever a young man who had once said that he had a right to dream — dream about India.

CATHOLIC CHURCH SPEARHEADS STIR AGAINST KERALA’S VIZHINJAM PORT BY ADANIS
K Raveendran - 2022-08-22 15:38
A month-long agitation by the coastal fishing community around Kerala’s Vizhinjam port in defence of their livelihood is threatening to stall India’s leading corporate Adani group’s schedule for the development of the port.

ANAND SHARMA AND AZAD’S RESIGNATION FROM PANELS IS A BAD OMEN FOR CONGRESS

PARTY HIGH COMMAND IS TREATING THE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN A CAVALIAR MANNER
Sushil Kutty - 2022-08-22 15:34
Unless a plane crashes or a jeep turns turtle, Congress politicians always seem to have a long autumn. The long and short: regardless of what happens, Congress politicians carry on with stoic resolve. Not even self-respect comes in the way. But it is "self-respect" that has dissuaded Congress veteran Anand Sharma from kowtowing to the Congress high command any further. The 69-year-old has resigned from the chairmanship of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Steering Committee for the upcoming state assembly elections.

LOWERING DRUG QUALITY TO BENEFIT CORPORATES UNACCEPTABLE

DRAFT NEW BILL SHIELDS MANUFACTURERS AT THE COST OF PATIENTS
Gyan Pathak - 2022-08-22 12:49
Prices of even essential drugs have been officially allowed to be hiked in India since April 1, 2022. Only about a year ago, prices for vaccines for COVID-19 were allowed to be charged much more from the private sector and even state governments than the centre, a differential approach to benefit manufacturers, an act of the Modi government that was to be modified after stiff opposition from the people. Now, the centre has come with a new bill, the draft of which allows even lowering the quality of drugs, decriminalises production and supply of non-standard drugs up to a new lower standard, and reduces punishment for manufacturers for below the newly envisaged lower standard drugs. Both the national and multinational manufacturers of drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices have been favoured at the cost of patients.

INDIA’S CLIMATE CHANGE COMMITMENTS GROW WEAKER

NEW-COAL BASED POWER PROJECTS AND COAL EXPLORATION TO CONTINUE
Gyan Pathak - 2022-08-22 12:44
India’s climate change commitments made last year in Glasgow COP26 has grown weaker just three month ahead of COP27 scheduled to be held in Egypt during November 7-18, 2022 due to a range of issues. Energy demand in the country is growing and financial need to transform the energy sector from unclean to clean green fuels is largely unmet.

BJP IN PANICK TO WEAKEN AAP BEFORE CRUCIAL STATE ASSEMBLY POLLS

CBI RAID AGAINST MANISH SISODIA DELIBERATE PLOY TO SHAKE KEJRIWAL
Sushil Kutty - 2022-08-20 15:16
The CBI action against AAP excise and education minister Manish Sisodia is betraying uneasiness in the BJP. More so, after America’s ‘No.1’ newspaper, the New York Times, put Sisodia on its front-page, declaring him the world’s 'No.1 education minister'. This, two days after AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal launched the party’s ‘Make India No.1' campaign.

CROWD IN FIELD AGAINST MODI IS A DELIGHT FOR SAFFRON PARTY

CREDIBILITY OF PM CANDIDATES IS A CASUALTY FOR UNITY
K Raveendran - 2022-08-20 15:08
The line-up against Narendra Modi for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is expanding steadily, but not in terms of its overall clout, but in the number of divisions.
