TAKE OVER OF NDTV CHANNEL BY ADANIS IS A SAD DAY FOR LIBERAL SECULAR CAMP

INDIAN TELEVISION MEDIA WILL ADD ONE MORE PRO NARENDRA MODI LOYALIST
Sushil Kutty - 2022-12-01 10:46
Too much has been spoken and written about how the Adani Group juggled shares and equity, whatever they might mean to the common layman, to snatch ownership of NDTV and run away with it such that it became the hottest story among a bevy. ‘O! No.’ said an anti-Modi aficionado of the news cycle. ‘Yeah, yup’, said his pal on the other side of the aisle, the whoop he let out threatening to turn into a nasty fit of whooping cough.

DECEMBER 6 IS AGAIN A REMINDER OF THE DAMAGE TO INDIAN ETHOS BY SANGH PARIVAR

30 YEARS AFTER, THE BJP AND RSS HAVE COME NEARER TO THEIR GOAL OF HINDU RASHTRA
Krishna Jha - 2022-12-01 10:38
The 30th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition is December 6. The wound is still livid. Razing down of Babri Masjid was a major step towards destroying our composite culture. It was also a part of the Ayodhya strategy of Hindutva forces that awaits its completion. To remove the hurdles from the path towards autocratic rule, they had managed to remove Bapu, and later, they destroyed the 16th century structure of Babri Masjid illegally, gleefully on December 6, 1992. They had realised that the challenge posed by Bapu could never be reined in because in his life time itself, he had comprehensively countered the project of Hindu Rashtra forcing its advocates, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Hindu Mahasabha, to the margins of Indian politics.

BLACK MONEY GENERATION IN INDIA RISING FAST

POLICIES CONTRIBUTING IN GROWTH OF BLACK ECONOMY
Gyan Pathak - 2022-11-30 14:46
Annual data from Switzerland’s central bank released in June 2022 showed that Indian funds in Swiss banks jumped to a 14-year high of 3.83 billion Swiss francs in 2021. It was a clear indication that the amount of Indian black money generated and stashed abroad has been rising sharply, though only a month later in July, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that there was no official estimate of the amount of money deposited by Indian citizens and companies in Swiss banks.

ELON MUSK, CLAIMS HE IS A “FREE SPEECH ABSOLUTIST”, BUT HE IS NOT

TWITTER UNDER THE WORLD’S RICHEST IS NOW CENSORING LEFT TWEETS MORE
Branko Marcetic - 2022-11-30 12:26
No one should’ve honestly believed Elon Musk would use his ownership of Twitter to champion free speech. Besides the fact that the man is a professional bullshitter, it was always dubious that a guy who slaps employees with gag orders and bars them from wearing pro-union messages had a genuine commitment to the proverbial marketplace of ideas.

THE NOVELIST AND SHORT STORY WRITER HAS PLANS FOR NEW WORKS
Harihar Swarup - 2022-11-30 12:21
Up until October, Sri Lankan writer Shehan Karunatilaka, 47, was quite content living in the quiet life. Cocooned in his room at his Colombo home, surrounded by books and his stories, he’d at most of his day talking to no one apart from himself and his characters. He’s an involved husband and parent to kids and a freelance advertising professional, fitting writing into his life. It kept him only as busy as he likes. “it’s a good life, the usual life of a writer”, he says.
