BENGALURU CAUGHT BETWEEN STORM OVER MASALA DOSA AND RAVAGING STORM WATERS

BLAME GAME ON FOR FLOODING OF I.T. BELT AS INFRASTRUCTURE BEGS FOR ATTENTION
K Raveendran - 2022-09-14 11:38
The next time you go out to have your favourite masala dosa in Bengaluru, check out with the local panchang whether the time is propitious for it. At least this is what Bengaluru South’s BJP MP Tejasvi Surya realised. Along with the youthful saffron MP, the masala dosa has been caught in a political storm, just as some cyclonic developments up north brought heavy rainfall that had parts of India’s famed Silicon Valley flooded without notice.

INDIA TO CREATE WIDEST GAP BETWEEN RICH AND POOR BY 2030

MAY BECOME THIRD BIGGEST ECONOMIC POWER WITH MOST OF THE POOR
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2022-09-14 11:34
India may become the third biggest economic power in the world by 2030. It has recently become the 5th biggest by replacing the United Kingdom, and is on the track to push Germany and Japan behind to become the 3rd only after the United States and China. However, such an economic growth model is helping the rich grow and keeping the people down by denying even jobs resulting in rate of joblessness to climb to 8.3 per cent. Thus, India is actually heading towards earning the double distinction for the country by 2030 as the third biggest economy with the widest economic gap between the rich and the poor.

BJP’S MARCH TO NABANNA, OFFICIAL HQ OF MAMATA HAS FAILED TO MAKE IMPACT

SANGH PARIVAR IS DESPERATE TO SHOW RESULTS IN PANCHAYAT POLLS NEXT YEAR
Arun Srivastava - 2022-09-13 10:52
Bengal BJP's March to Nabanna, the headquarters of Bengal Government on September 13 against 'TMC Corruption’ was a desperate exercise to project Mamata Banerjee as the most corrupt leader in the country, it also implicitly aims to counter ‘pro-separatist’ and anti-minority image and identify itself particularly with the Muslim villagers of rural Bengal. However, though the participation was impressive, the march failed to make additional impact in favour of BJP in the state.

Sushil Kutty - 2022-09-13 10:39
Arvind Kejriwal’s gimmicks! There was the time, early in his political career, January 2014 to be precise, when Kejriwal slept on the side of the road outside the Rail Bhawan in New Delhi, his body at ease on a mattress placed next to his famed blue Wagon-R that he swore will be his vehicle for life come what may. October 2017, the Wagon-R went missing from outside the secretariat and was found in a Ghaziabad side-street. Today, there is no trace of the Wagon-R’s whereabouts.

Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2022-09-13 10:35
The much-awaited data on modern day slavery has finally been released, which has confirmed our worst of the fears that already shockingly rising trend has further been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020. The report has special significance for India, since it reveals that most cases of forced labour about 86 per cent are found in private sector with forced commercial sexual exploitation of 23 per cent of all forced labour. Almost four out of five of those in forced commercial sexual exploitation are women or girls. The number people in modern slavery has risen significantly to 50 million in the past five years, which is 10 million more in 2021 than in 2016. Nearly 1 of every 150 people in the world are under modern slavery.

DECLINING CHINESE ECONOMIC GROWTH IS LEADING NEW U.S. INVESTMENTS TO INDIA

BEIJING WORRIED AT CONTINUING PROBLEMS BEING FACED IN RCEP AND BRI
Subrata Majumder - 2022-09-12 17:29
India is not a member of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership). Neither it is party to BRI (Belt and Road Initiative). Both are predominantly influenced by Chinese economic and political muscles. RCEP is facing problems, owing to ASEAN paranoia over China’s increasing influence, without any headwind like India and USA and BRI is in tatters with number of countries leaving the initiative fearing Chinese domination.

Kalyani Shankar - 2022-09-12 17:25
Image building is a politically important tool for present-day politicians worldwide, and India is no exception. They employ specialized image-building companies, who tell their clients what to wear, how to speak and what issues should be focused on at considerable costs to capture power.

POLITICAL CORRUPTION IS EATING INTO HEART OF INDIAN ECONOMY

PUBLIC WEALTH PROTECTORS HAVE BECOME ITS DEVOURERS
Nantoo Banerjee - 2022-09-12 17:20
Nothing has grown more steadily in democratic India than political corruption ever since its independence. Ironically, the news of political corruption consumed more media space than any other line of stories since 1948. Yet, such news had hardly much impact on political parties and their indulgence to corruption. Most of the political corruption cases follow a pattern — investigations launched by the ruling party at the Centre against opposition party bosses in states. The ruling party — in the Centre or states — rarely acts against its own corrupt leaders. Interestingly, political corruption cases mostly end up without conclusion either for want of proper evidence or due to the change of the government that initiated such investigations. High profile corruption cases often appear as big public entertainers like blockbuster film thrillers with little substance. They seem to disappear from public memory as soon as a new story props up. This is despite the fact political corruption has been systematically eating into the vitals of the country’s economy and social progress.
