BY REFUSING TO BE CONGRESS PRESIDENT, RAHUL GANDHI HAS CREATED A MESS

ASHOK GEHLOT EPISODE EXPOSES THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF HIGH COMMAND
Sushil Kutty - 2022-09-27 14:37
How can the Congress take a hit and no lightning bolts strike 10, Janpath when the loyalist stabs the cherished family in the back? Instead, the high command carries on as if nobody other than the perpetrator Ashok Gehlot could get hurt. And, by extension, the instigator Bharatiya Janata Party, which was in any case behind Gehlot’s cowardly “gadaari”. The sore truth is if anybody should take the blame for the Congress ‘aala'-command’s collapse, it is Rahul Gandhi, who owns the party but refuses to be Congress President!

It is evident from even Adani’s keynote address delivered in the two-day (September 26-27) 20th Forbes Global CEO conference in Singapore.

Victor Grossman - 2022-09-26 17:23
BERLIN: Some readers might expect – at last – a jolly, happy bulletin from Berlin. Germany, fourth richest power in the world, the strongest in Europe, seems to have overcome at least for now the ravages of the pandemic. Except in public transportation and medical institutions, face masks have all but disappeared. There are more jobs again – at least in fast-food or discount shops, in restaurants and hotels or for computer experts. Subways, buses, and streetcars usually run on time – and sometimes even the inter-city trains.

ASHOK GEHLOT IS MAKING HIS POSITION VULNERABLE BY PLAYING NOT STRAIGHT

CONGRESS HIGH COMMAND HAS EVERY REASON TO PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE
Sushil Kutty - 2022-09-26 17:17
Politics is the art of keeping the adversary guessing, which is what Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is good at. The harbinger of the crisis that is dogging the Congress in Rajasthan, Gehlot says something before going to bed and, then, something altogether different the next morning.

PAYROLL REPORTING IN INDIA IS STILL UNRELIABLE

BUOYANCY SHOWN IN FORMAL JOBS IS MISLEADING
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2022-09-26 17:14
The latest data released by the National Statistical Office has been presented in a way that shows a ‘buoyancy’ in the formal job creations in India in July 2022 compared to a year before, across the three major schemes – Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employees’ State Insurance, and National Pension Scheme (NPS). However, it has all the elements that mislead and does not provide a clear picture of the ground realities of the volatile job market in the country. Formalization of jobs is too slow to outpace the fast increasing informal jobs sans social security coverage.

VEDANTA-FOXCONN SEMICONDUCTOR FAB PROJECT MUST WORK

INDIA’S BID TO MAKE MICROCHIPS HAD FAILED MANY TIMES EARLIER
Nantoo Banerjee - 2022-09-26 17:06
It may be early to predict the future of Vedanta-Foxconn’s proposed $22-billion joint venture project in India for an integrated display and semiconductor fabrication ecosystem. The promoters have already got themselves enmeshed in a political controversy over a sudden change in the project location — from Maharashtra to Gujarat. Significantly, the location change came just three months before the Gujarat assembly election. The promoters were in dialogue with the Maharashtra government for several months. The deal was about to be signed and sealed when Vedanta-Foxconn changed their mind to locate the project in Gujarat. The choice may be more political than economic. Gujarat has little background in electronics manufacturing.
