THE NEED OF HARMONY FOR BUILDING AN INCLUSIVE INDIA IS IMPERATIVE
Sushil Kutty - 2022-09-11 05:13
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of the Congress was in the “land of Kamaraj” when Rahul Gandhi met two people, a teenage girl of about “12/14”, and a Catholic “father” of no mean controversies. If the girl’s curiosity was a welcome diversion for Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader’s curiosity was fodder for the Catholic father to brew hate.

Gyan Pathak - 2022-09-10 08:29
Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in India may soon turn into new battlefield to be fought between the Union Government and the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). If the Union Government goes ahead with its privatisation move, the UFBU have threatened for longer strike action, a scenario that will spell disaster for the entire financial system of the country, at a time when a stronger, equitable, and sustainable financial system is required to provide financial access to all.

“IT IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT GERMANY IS SENDING WEAPONS TO UKRAINE TO CONTINUE WAR”

LAST LEADER OF EAST GERMAN RULING PARTY EGOR KRENZ BLAMES NATO
Ben Chacko - 2022-09-09 17:26
BERLIN: The death of Mikhail Gorbachev on August 30 brought discussion of the collapse of Soviet socialism back to the fore—especially as the neoliberal world order it ushered in is crumbling around us. Just a couple of days before the last leader of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union’s death, I sat with the last leader of East Germany’s ruling Socialist Unity Party (SED), Egon Krenz, a speaker at one of the multiple political talks and rallies that, with music, food, and drink, make up the Unsere Zeit press festival annually in Germany.

NDTV’S SREENIVASAN JAIN ALLOWED DONALD TRUMP TO PLAY ON HIS OWN TERMS

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW REVEALED ONCE AGAIN BONHOMIE BETWEEN MODI AND FORMER U.S. PRESIDENT
Sushil Kutty - 2022-09-09 17:22
In the United States former presidents continue to be ‘President’ for the rest of their lives. And so, ‘President Trump’ gave an interview to NDTV and but for the fact that seven seas separated India from the United States, Trump wouldn’t have agreed to the interview for the simple reason that within earshot Trump would have known years ago that of the hundreds of Indian TV media, NDTV comes the nearest to aping CNN in its reportage philosophy.

LATEST I-T RAIDS ON THINK TANKS REVEAL NERVOUSNESS OF RULING REGIME

BJP LEADERS ARE GETTING PANICKY AT ADVERSE REPORTS FROM THE STATES
Arun Srivastava - 2022-09-09 17:17
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the people of India of having good days, is himself passing through his worst days. Bizarre are the ways in which the Income Tax Department has searched this week the premises of three leading bodies, Centre for Policy Research (CPR), OxFam India and the Independent and Public Spirited Media Foundation. The searches were aimed at coercing the managements of these independent bodies to toe the official line of the saffrons. The Sangh close media portals have been campaigning for long against these three bodies saying their reports are biased against the BJP.

FINANCE MINISTRY OFFICIALS GLOSSING OVER FIRST QUARTER GDP ESTIMATES

IN REALITY INDIAN ECONOMY IS GETTING BOGGED DOWN IN STAGNATION
Prabhat Patnaik - 2022-09-09 17:13
The estimates of Gross Domestic Product for the April-June quarter released by the government of India on August 31 paint a dismal picture of the Indian economy. Since the GDP in real terms (at 2011-12 prices) shows an increase of 13.5 per cent over the first quarter GDP a year ago, and since 13.5 per cent appears an impressive figure, official spokespersons have been putting a cheerful gloss over it. But a closer look reveals an economy getting further bogged down in a state of stagnation.
