IMRAN KHAN’S PEACE PIPELINE IS MEANT TO WOO INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND

PAKISTAN ESTABLISHMENT NEEDS HUGE MONEY TO DEAL WITH ITS ECONOMIC CRISIS
Sankar Ray - 2022-01-15 11:49
The much fanfare with which the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi announced the 100-page long maiden National Security Policy 2022-2066 meets with both bouquets and brickbats. It was okayed by the miltablishment prior to nod by the cabinet as the PM revealed the ‘civil military consensus around ‘a citizen-centric framework, placing economic security at its core. The statement, drew appreciation from the democracy-yearning intelligentsia but the skeptics point out the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf government’s appeasement towards the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan which has heightened in the tribal belt in northwest Pakistan, its former stronghold, and in the restive south western province of Balochistan. Furthermore, transparency dogs the Pak media-hyped NSP as the major part of the document is reportedly classified Critics also mention of silence about the final settlement of the Kashmir issue.

PETER BOGDANOVICH EMBODIED AN ERA WHEN CINEMA REALLY MATTERED

THIS HOLLYWOOD ICON HAD A FASCINATING JOURNEY WITH BIG RISE AND FALL
Eileen Jones - 2022-01-15 11:46
One of my favourite works by the recently deceased writer-actor-director Peter Bogdanovich is a monograph called Fritz Lang in America. In it, he very sensibly argues that Lang’s directorial work in America is every bit as great and important as what he’d done in Germany, though he enjoyed nothing like the lofty status of cinematic god that Lang had once held.

Market remains weak in general and labour market in particular. Jobs for daily wagers are significantly reduced, and many have lost their jobs.

Arun Srivastava - 2022-01-15 11:37
So far, the BJP leadership has used party forums to accuse the Congress and its Punjab government of hatching a conspiracy to harm the prime minister on January 5, but on Wednesday, six BJP chief ministers, acting under a devious design struck the public domain accusing the security lapse was “pre-planned, well-orchestrated conspiracy” notwithstanding Supreme Court instituting an enquiry headed by a Retd Supreme Court justice.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING S P MAURYA IN TURBULENT UTTAR PRADESH POLITICS

FOR SAMAJWADI PARTY SUPREMO AKHILESH YADAV, THE ELECTORAL PATH IS NOT SMOOTH
Sushil Kutty - 2022-01-15 11:33
The worst that is being spoken of about newly minted Samajwadi politician Swami Prasad Maurya is not that he is defector or turncoat, but that he is somebody who is more worried about his family heirlooms, concerned they may not get due recognition as the years roll by. At the same time, congrats is due to Swami Prasad Maurya for finally zeroing in on the right political party, one which values dynasty and family rule.
