Sports Correspondent - 2020-12-29 15:38

2020 WAS A MIXED YEAR FOR BJP AND PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI

NEW YEAR WILL THROW BIGGER CHALLENGES IN ECONOMY AND POLITY
Kalyani Shankar - 2020-12-29 11:29
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath in May 2019 no one would have dreamt of many unexpected challenges he is facing today. Even otherwise, when he returned to power for the second time Modi inherited a long list of problems unresolved during his first term. No doubt BJP won more seats than in 2014 but he needed to fix the unfinished agenda in agriculture, economy, international relations, and internal social disharmony.

2020 BROUGHT OUT POTENTIAL OF NEW IDEAS, TALENTED ACTORS ON OTT PLATFORM

REGIONAL CINEMAS ALSO CONTRIBUTED SOME OF THE FINEST FILMS
Papri Sri Raman - 2020-12-29 10:46
With home as the world, 2020 has been a bonanza for couch potatoes and others in India amidst a raging debate about large-screen or small. The year began with two exceptional films, big screen releases in last January and February, and exceptionally underplayed promotion-wise and review-wise, given the grapevine campaigns by patriarchal misogynists against them – that they were anti-men – Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone and Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu.

FAILING TO ELECT SPEAKER SHOWS CONTEMPT FOR VIDHAN SABHA

CM SHIVRAJ DEFENDS NEW FARM LAWS AMID RAGING PROTESTS IN MP
L S Herdenia - 2020-12-29 10:40
BHOPAL: Democratic institutions are the worst hit in Madhya Pradesh. The ill-effect is so serious that the Vidhan Sabha continues to be headless. The Vidhan Sabha could not elect a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker. The affairs of the Vidhan Sabha are being conducted by pro-tem Speaker. According to the Constitution, the pro-tem Speaker's only job is to administer oath to the newly elected members, but besides that, pro-tem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma is acting as the full-fledged Speaker. He is signing files, issuing orders, undertaking tours. It was expected that the Speaker may be elected in the three-day session which was to be held from December 28 to 30, but it was called off after many legislators were found to be Covid-positive.

AMIT SHAH’S NORTH-EAST VISIT IS A CONTINUANCE OF BJP’S ACT EAST POLICY

SAFFRON PARTY WANTS TO FURTHER CONSOLIDATE ITS HOLD ON NE STATES
Sagarneel Sinha - 2020-12-29 10:37
Ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in 2014 at the centre, the saffron party, keeping in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s Act East policy, has always given stress to increase its footprint in the north-eastern region of the country. The saffron party never had any significant footprints in the region, which was once known as the traditional stronghold of the Congress party. To counter the Congress, BJP formed the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), a conglomeration of many anti-Congress regional parties.

INFLATED EGO OF CONGRESS LEADERSHIP IS HURTING BUILDING OF ANTI-BJP FRONT

GOP MUST RESPECT THE REGIONAL PARTIES AND SINCERELY WORK FOR JOINT ACTION
Arun Srivastava - 2020-12-29 10:33
It is a known fact that the Congress leaders are well versed with the art of committing hara-kiri. They cherish to live in their make-believe world and refuse to accept the ground realities. Even in the existing political situation when they and their parry have been completely marginalised, when even the regional parties prefer to keep them poles apart, they nurse the illusion that they are born to rule. It is their foolish sense of inflated ego that they refuse to learn the art of electoral alliance and master the skill of bringing together divergent political parties.
