FINLAND’S CONSERVATIVE COALITION OPTS FOR REVERSING EARLIER PRO-PEOPLE MEASURES

PRIME MINISTER PETTERI ORPO DEAD SET TO BENEFIT THE RICH AT THE COST OF COMMONERS
Otto Kyyrönen - 2024-11-23 13:46
HELSINKI: In Finland, the liberal-conservative National Coalition Party and the far-right Finns Party, whose members together add up to nearly 90 percent of the current government, have united around a shared political project: authoritarian neoliberalism. The right-wing government is taking from the poor to give to the rich while dismantling Finland’s rule-of-law state and civil society.

WHO IS DOJ OF US GOVERNMENT TO DEMAND ARREST OF GAUTAM ADANI?

INDIAN AGENCIES WILL INVESTIGATE AND TAKE ACTION WHATEVER IS NEEDED
Anjan Roy - 2024-11-22 15:44
The real import of the US department of justice (DOJ) indictment of Indian billionaire, Gautam Adani, on counts of corruption and bribery has been somewhat lost on the wider public. It is the geo-economics of US dominion over the rest of the world that has to be taken note of. It is extension of US heft far beyond its backyard.

NARENDRA MODI SHOULD NOW AGREE TO OPPOSITION DEMAND FOR SETTING UP JPC

THAT IS THE BEST OPTION TO DEAL WITH U.S GOVT CALL FOR ARREST OF GAUTAM ADANI
Sushil Kutty - 2024-11-22 15:41
Media should stop using “alleged” when reporting billionaire Gautam Adani's many exploits. Why will someone so stinking rich need to bribe and commit fraud? "Alleged" robs the seriousness of the charge, and partially exonerates the man, who has friends in high places, which is all the more reason for setting up a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe, which will also clear Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the charge of guilt by association.

Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2024-11-22 15:38
After elections are over in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, the next electoral battlefield Delhi has come into focus, where election is scheduled to be held early next year before the term of its Vidhan Sabha expires on February 23, 2025. Political posturing of the major political parties, chiefly the ruling AAP in the state and the ruling BJP at the Centre, has become interesting with turncoats taking political centrestage.

HUGE SHORTAGE OF SKILLED PERSONNEL HITS INDIA’S RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR

CENTRE MAY FALL SHORT OF ACHIEVING AMBITIOUS 500 GW TARGET BY 2030
Tirthankar Mitra - 2024-11-22 15:35
India's aim to achieve 500 Giga Watt (GW) of renewable energy capacity by 2030 is facing a roadblock. At this critical juncture it is faced with a shortage of 1.2 million skilled workers in the renewable energy sector. This target is pivotal for the meeting of international climate commitments. It is more than a technical shortcoming.

UKRAINE’S FIRING OF BRITISH MISSILES DEEP INTO RUSSIA IS A SLUR ON LABOUR GOVT

PRIME MINISTER KEIR STARMER MUST EXPLAIN TO PARLIAMENT HIS DECISION TO PERMIT
Ben Chacko - 2024-11-22 15:32
LONDON: Every day, another lurch nearer the precipice. The British Establishment appears bent on dragging the country to war without telling anyone. As anticipated, it seems that Keir Starmer has authorised Ukraine to fire British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russia and that Kiev has commenced doing so.

DONALD TRUMP’S RETURN REFLECTS THE GLOBAL CRISIS OF CENTRISM

LATEST TRENDS IN EUROPE ALSO SIGNAL THE DECLINE OF TRADITIONAL PARTIES
Zoltan Zigedy - 2024-11-22 15:30
WASHINGTON DC: In the wake of the election, I have read many insightful and thoughtful assessments of how we have arrived at the point where Donald Trump was re-elected. I highly recommend the recent scathing essay by my colleague at Marxism-Leninism Today, Chris Townsend (www.bit.ly/MLTelection), on the crying need for an alternative to the two-party charade and the bankruptcy of the Democratic Party as a representative for working people. But for every good analysis, there are a dozen awful commentaries that ultimately blame the voters’ judgement or endorse their worst fears.

OUTCOME OF TWO ASSEMBLY AND UP BYPOLLS WILL HAVE IMPACT ON CHOICE OF NEXT BJP PRESIDENT

RSS LEADERHIP IS IN AN AGGRESSIVE MOOD TO GET DUE ROLE IN GOVT DECISION MAKING
Arun Srivastava - 2024-11-21 11:30
Muslims have no right to vote: this is the message that was sent by the state machinery and police to the country on November 20, while the elections to the assembly were underway in Maharashtra and Jharkhand and nine by-elections were held in Uttar Pradesh. Nevertheless, Muslim women in UP deserve salute who undeterred of threat of firing by a police official, who publicly aimed his revolver at them asking not to move forward, pushed their way to the polling booth.

BIG VICTORY FOR LEFT IN SRI LANKA PARLIAMENTARY POLLS IS A HEARTENING DEVELOPMENT

NPP’S TWO-THIRD MAJORITY IS A LANDMARK EVENT IN POLITICS OF SOUTH ASIA
P Sudhir - 2024-11-21 10:58
The National People’s Power (NPP) has won a historic victory in the Sri Lankan Parliament elections. For the first time, a political party has won a two-thirds majority through the proportional representation system. The NPP has won 159 of the 225 seats polling a record high of 61.6 per cent of the vote. This is an extraordinary performance considering the fact that the NPP had got only three seats in the last election held in 2020.

PRESIDENT PUTIN’S HARDENING OF NUCLEAR DOCTRINE IS MEANT FOR UKRAINE’S EUROPEAN ALLIES

UNLESS TRUMP DEALS WITH IT AFTER TAKE OVER, WAR MAY ESCALATE TO A HIGHER LEVEL
Anjan Roy - 2024-11-21 10:56
As if he needed a doctrine to make a strike, the Russian president Vladimir Putin, has amended the so-called Russian nuclear doctrine. The change provides for Russia to strike even a non-nuclear state with nuclear weapons in case it is “supported” by a country which has nuclear weapons.
