SCHOOL EDUCATION IN BIHAR IS IN DOLDRUMS WITH FRAUDS IN RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS

COURT PROCEEDINGS AND INVESTIGATIONS ARE ADVERSELY AFFECTING STUDENTS CLASSES
Arun Kumar Shrivastav - 2024-11-19 11:47
After the recruitment of over 2 lakh school teachers in less than three months (November 2023 to January 2024), Bihar school education is plagued by the news of fraudulent documents used by the candidates for their appointments. Processes, such as e-service books and a dedicated portal to deal with transfer requests, are being put in place. These platforms will also be used for checking and verifying the documents submitted by teachers. Sources claim it might lead to thousands of teachers losing their jobs. These teachers were appointed after they cleared Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE) 1 and 2, conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).

INCREASING COLLABORATION BETWEEN BRITAIN AND CHINA IS IMPERATIVE AT THE PRESENT MOMENT

PRIME MINISTER STARMER NEEDS TO FOLLOW AN INDEPENDENT POLICY DISTANCING FROM USA
Ben Chacko - 2024-11-19 11:44
LONDON: The meeting between a British prime minister and China’s President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro on November 18 was long overdue. Reportedly, Keir Starmer wants a “consistent, respectful and pragmatic” relationship between the two countries, with an emphasis on progress towards clean energy. But he is especially keen to improve Britain’s prospects for economic growth by increasing British exports to China and Chinese investment in Britain.

THE PHILIPPINE’S NEW MARITIME ACTS ANGER CHINA

THE US SUPPORT BREWS FRESH LITTORAL CONFLICT
Nantoo Banerjee - 2024-11-18 11:41
Manila: The US-backed new Philippine Maritime Zones Act and Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act clearly defining the extent and boundaries of the country’s maritime zones and nullifying China’s sweeping claims in the South China Sea promises to raise fresh tensions in the region threatening to affect the estimated global maritime trade of around US$5 trillion annually. Earlier this month, the laws were signed and sealed by Philippines President Bongbong Marcos. They were instantly supported by the US, which said the Philippines can depend on a “chorus of nations” declaring support for the 2016 arbitral ruling to defend its maritime rights and entitlements as well as help maintain a rule-based order in the face of China’s aggression and flouting of international law.

CHINESE ECONOMY MAY GET A BOOST IF TRUMP STICKS TO HIS PROPOSED HIGH TARIFF

A MORE PROTECTIONIST POLICY WILL ONLY ALIENATE U.S. FROM GLOBAL ECONOMIES
Dr. Nilanjan Banik - 2024-11-18 11:34
Donald Trump made history by winning a larger share of Black and Hispanic votes compared to 2020, and by becoming the first since George W. Bush to win based on popular votes. There had already been indications of Trump winning, although not by such a decisive margin. Initially, the US betting industry was predicting a Trump win. Then, there was the indication from the US stock market. In October, the stocks owned by Trump, performed much better than the stocks listed in S&P 500. More importantly, Trump is being funded by major corporations and is supported by the White Protestants and Catholics. Historically, the US business leaders have consistently supported Republicans. Between 2007 and 2017, 57% of the CEOs of S&P 1500 companies contributed politically to the Republican Party, 19% gave to the Democrats, and the rest split their contributions between the two parties.

CENTRE MUST ACT FAST TO CONTROL THE VIOLENT SITUATION IN MANIPUR AGAIN

HIGH-LEVEL MEETINGS IN DELHI ARE NOT ENOUGH TO DEFUSE THE TENSIONS
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2024-11-18 11:30
Manipur is burning, and the heat of the flames is felt not only in the entire North-East, but up to New Delhi, the National Capital of India, where Union Minister of Home Amit Shah is busy in holding high-level meetings, with little action on the ground in spite of fresh waves of violence for about a fortnight. Prime Minister is on tour out of the country with his disturbing silence on burning Manipur.

MODI-SHAH CAUTION AGAINST BANGLADESH INFILTRATION IN JHARKHAND IS OMINOUS

THE RSS AND BJP WANT TO DENY HISTORICAL ROOTS OF MUSLIMS IN THE AREA FOR DECADES
Arun Srivastava - 2024-11-18 10:59
RSS and BJP have been consistently raising the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration but the manner in which they are putting it in the Jharkhand assembly elections, makes it obvious that they are working on some treacherous plot. More than merely being a design to polarise the Hindu votes and put the Vanvasis against Mool Adivasis and Christians, it is part of their bigger plan to make ‘intrusion’ a big issue in the sub-continent.

RICH NATIONS ARE STILL RELUCTANT TO SHELL OUT ENOUGH FUNDS TO MEET THE CLIMATE CHALLENGE

BAKU SUMMIT MUST COME OUT WITH DECISIVE ACTION ON FINANCIAL AID TO DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
Asad Mirza - 2024-11-18 10:55
The delegates at the on-going COP29 are expected to deliver news solutions to save the world from a climate catastrophe, but these expectations instead of focussing on climate warriors, should pressurise the developed world holding its purse strings tight, to loosen them and spend for what it has already destroyed in the race for advancement through industrialisation.

HINDU PREACHERS MULL SETTING UP SANATAN BOARD ON THE LINES OF WAQF BODY

BOTH BJP AND RSS ARE COOL TO THE AGGRESSIVE POSTURE OF THE SADHUS
Sushil Kutty - 2024-11-18 10:52
A Dharma Sansad was organized in Delhi at which “firebrand” Hindu religious preachers and ‘Hindu Sants’ called for the constitution of a ‘Sanatan Board’ on the lines of the Waqf Board. Fiery speeches with a call to destroy the ‘Waqf Board’ or the setting up of the Sanatan Board (“abhi nahi toh kabhie nahin”) marked the Dharma Sansad. The congregation of “saints” and their followers was led by a Hindu preacher, Devkinandan Thakur, who assumed leadership of the ‘Dharma Sansad’.
