BHOPAL: Strange and unexpected developments in the ruling BJP have given rise to various speculation including the possibility of change in the leadership of the Madhya Pradesh government. In order to refute such rumours Home Minister and government designated spokesman Dr. Narottam Mishra issued a brief statement saying "Shivraj Singh Chouhan was our Chief Minister, is our Chief Minister and will continue as our Chief Minister."

Unemployment continues rising. The 30-day moving average unemployment rate rose to 13 percent on June 6, 2021 from 11.9 per cent in May as per the CMIE data, indicating worsening of the situation further. Not only that, the labour participation rate fell further to 39.7 per cent from 40 per cent during the same period showing lesser number of jobs available in the market. Employment rate has also fallen from 35.3 per cent to 34.6 per cent.
