As far as the western media was concerned, the United States and its allies could up any fine morning and send their armies into Iraq or Libya, lay to waste Afghanistan, and that would not be invasion because it’s democracy fighting fascism; therefore, legit knights in righteous armour. But dare any country outside the so-called democracy-fold do the same and, boy, isn’t that invasion, it cannot be nothing else.

And it’s not just Russia which is ugh for the western media! There are also the “Kremlin-friendly” countries in Russia’s neighbourhood and their leaders who have got the West’s goat, and have vamoosed with it. Imagine, the ordinary citizens of Hungary and Serbia, how dare they continue to elect “people-unfriendly” leaders, who also happen to be Vladimir Putin’s pals?

The questions then boil down to were the elections in Hungary and Serbia democratic? Were the election results manipulated? Shouldn’t the election authorities of Hungary and Serbia have called for independent “election monitors” from the United States or the UK? The mother of all questions: “Are the electorates of Hungary and Serbia bigots, people without common sense and conscience?”

This happens when one side to a war takes the high pedestal and rules that it’s the “good side” and declares that the “other side” is genetically evil. The United States and the rest of the West believe they cannot go wrong, like they weren’t when the US invaded Iraq, and the western media parroted Bush's WMD theory till it was fit to be conferred with a PhD.

The western media is not fickle. The western media is part of the ecosystem which produces fake narratives like the WMD theory which laid to waste Iraq. Afghanistan is another wasteland that the “freedom-loving” flag-bearers of democracy—the likes of the New York Times and The Guardian—turned a blind eye to.

Now, these very same people are questioning Hungary’s voters for overwhelmingly voting Prime Minister Viktor Obran to another term. Obran has been Prime Minister since 2010. And in Serbia, another “Kremlin-friendly” politician, President Aleksandar Vucic, has won re-election, and he has governed Serbia since 2012.

President Vucic’s “nationalist and pro-Russian base” refused to ally with the EU in slapping sanctions against Russia, and now they have re-voted Vucic! This, when Serbia wants to be a member of the EU. The “unusually high (voter) turnout” in Serbia surprised the West, which just cannot fathom what sort of people Serbians must be that they keep electing “Moscow-friendly” dictators like Vucic!

The West, especially the United States, fails to see that it is not how popular Putin is in the US and in Western Europe that decides poll outcomes in Hungary and Serbia. This, when the western media is aware that Putin’s rating has gone through the roof in Russia—an unbelievable 83 percent. Compared to that, President Joe Biden is wallowing in the American mud at the bottom of the Niagara falls.

Contrary to western media reports, the ordinary Russian is rallying behind President Vladimir Putin at a time when the West has been asking every second country to join it in condemning Russia. America is under the delusion that WW-II is still on and the allies have permanent possession of the moral compass!

The war in Ukraine is dirty. Some of the stories coming out of the war-torn country are examples of deadly destruction and horrendous butchery. But the western media’s Ukrainian horror stories, which the Indian mainstream media quote and show without cuts, doesn’t explain why all of a sudden, after 35 days of unstoppable fighting, the Russian Army has suddenly turned genocidal?

Should we believe everything Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and the western media serve us 24/7? For all we know, both the West and Zelensky maybe want the war in Ukraine to drag on till god only knows for how long. Obviously, Russia wouldn’t want Zelensky to remain President once the war is over.

Before the last shots in this Ukraine war is fired, many more genocidal horror stories will be reported from Ukraine to paint President Putin and Russia into Hitler's Nazi corner. Last, but not least, it's not just Joe Biden's election alone which was legitimate, those held in "Kremlin-friendly" countries also have to be taken as such. (IPA Service)
