After he become national president of BJP Amit Shah is coming to Lucknow on August 19 for the first time to enthuse party leaders and workers to create Modi wave in the state again to win all the seats.
During his visit, Amit Shah will address party leaders and workers from all over the state especially from those areas where by-elections are scheduled in few months.
State BJP is also making elaborate arrangements to make the visit of Amit Shah as big event to capitalize it to evolve strategy to win the elections.
There have been several meetings at state level to make arrangements for by-polls at the ground level and all those in charge have been asked to select the panel of three names and submit to state leadership at the earliest. BJP has announced that they would make the issue that Samajwadi Party had nobody excepting a family member for Mainpuri. seat. Mulayam Singh Yadav has already announced that his brothers’ grandson Tej Pratap Singh Yadav could contest from Mainpuri.
BJP leaders said that they would make the issue that Mulayam had nobody but for his family members to contest from Mainpuri. It can be mentioned here that Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple had lost to Raj Babbar in Lok Sabha polls in 2009 in Firozabad.
It would be worth mentioning here that all the 12 assembly seats were held by BJP while Mainpuri seat was won by Samajwadi Party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav who had also won from Azamgarh and decided to retain it.
After drubbing in Lok Sabha polls, Mulayam Singh Yadav has taken these by-polls seriously and made his younger brother and cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav as in charge of all the by-polls.
Mulayam Singh Yadav has realized that he has to retain Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat and take maximum number of seats from 12 assembly by-polls to give the message that Modi wave is on the wane in Uttar Pradesh.
SP leader has given clear message to all his party ministers and senior leaders that they should win in all the seats and spread the achievements of Akhilesh Yadav government to village level.
Mulayam Singh Yadav himself is supervising these elections and he has been telling that winning in all the by-polls was important as prestige of the government and the party was at stake.
Political observers feel that the decision of Bahujan Samaj Party not to contest these by-elections will help BJP in a big way.
During last Lok Sabha polls, it was observed that BSP could not win a single seat from UP as there was shift in its core vote bank to BJP besides upper caste voters.
Political experts opine that BSP supremo Mayawati will herself ask the voters to vote for BJP to ensure defeat of arch rival Samajwadi Party.
Congress has yet not recovered from the shock of serious drubbing in Lok Sabha polls in which only Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi could win from the state while the performance in rest of 78 seats was miserable. (IPA Service)
