For proof, supporters pointed to the raucous reception Modi received in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

AMENDED WAQF ACT MAY LEAD TO MORE CHURNING AMONG THE MUSLIM SUPPORT OF BJP ALLIES

Arun Srivastava - 2025-04-05 10:42
Saffron ecosystem must be feeling ecstatic at its achievement of having Waqf board under its belt, acquiring vast tract of land owned by it across the country and pushing the Muslims to the position of second grade citizens. A closer introspection nevertheless would make it explicit that the strategy of saffron retribution will prove to be boon in disguise for Muslims as it would witness emergence of a new type of Muslim politics, having different culture and tenet.

BOTH CHINA AND INDIA HAVE MADE SUBSTANTIAL GROWTH IN RICE AND WHEAT PRODUCTION

HUGE DOMESTIC DEMAND FOR FOODGRAINS LIMITS SCOPE FOR EXPORTS OF BOTH
Kunal Bose - 2025-04-04 12:01
The challenge for both China and India, which have the world’s largest number of mouths to feed, is to ensure that further land degradation does not happen and the barren land is progressively recovered for farming. The two countries in their own ways remain engaged in the task even while China has an edge over its neighbour in wasteland recovery. Beijing continues to invest heavily in restoring barren and degraded land for farming, primarily through programmes like the “grain for green” involving financial rewards for farmers to plant trees. Such initiatives results in significant improvements in soil health. Whatever that is, bringing new land for agricultural use is a slow process as urbanisation, infrastructure development and building of industries will continue to lay claim on land.
