Adenosine triphosphate

Adenosine triphosphate or ATP is a term in biochemistry that refers to a compound in which an adenosine molecule is bonded to three phosphate groups found in all living tissues.

It is responsible for creation of energy and providing it for physiological processes, such as muscular contraction. Such an energy is produced when adenosine triphosphate breaks to form adenosine diphosphate (ADP).
