Aj is Sanskrit means who is never born. It is why, in Indian mythology, this word is used as an epithet for Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Kamdev and Agni.

According to the Ramayan, Aj was also a king of Ayodhya.

This descendent of Ikshvaku was the son of Nabhag and the father of Dashrath.

In some other places in Indian mythology, Aj is the name of the chariot of Surya.
