Anant Singh
Anant Singh was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was son of Golap Singh. He joined Masterda's Party in 1918 and participated in Assam Railway Action in 1923. Consequently, he was arrested under ordinance act in 1924 and 1926. He was one of the chief leaders of the Armoury Raid. He voluntarily surrendered, and was sent to Andaman jail to serve his sentence. There, he joined the second hunger strike in Cellular Jail and another one in Alipore jail. He was repatriated from Andaman jail in January 1938, and ultimately released of 31st of August 1946. His total jail period was 20 years.Nearby pages
