Antioxidant

Antioxidant is a name given to a substance that acts against oxidation. Such a substance is used especially to protect stored food products from deterioration by inhibiting oxidation. In living organisms, vitamin C or E act as antioxidant by removing potentially damaging oxidizing agents in the body.
