Asperger's syndrome

Asperger's syndrome, also Asperger syndrome, is a term in psychiatry for a condition related to autism. The patient has higher than average intellectual ability but suffers from impaired social skills and restrictive, repetitive patterns of interest and activities. It is named after the Austrian psychiatrist Hans Asperger (1906-80) who described this developmental disorder in 1944.
