Avocet

Avocet is a wading bird. It has long legs, slender upturned bill, and strikingly patterned plumage. Four species of this bird are found which includes the American avocet (Recurvirosta americana) having black and white patterned plumage. It belongs to the genus Recurvirostra, and the family Recurvirostridae.
