Baffin Bay

Baffin Bay a strait, an extension of the North Atlantic Ocean stretching northward between Baffin Island in North America and Greenland. It is linked to the Arctic Ocean by three passages. The strait is largely ice-bound in winter. It is opened for four months in summer for fishing and sports. It was discovered in 1615 by William Baffin and is named after him.
