Ball bearing

'Ball bearing' is a term for a bearing between a wheel and a fixed axle. It has a rotating and a stationary part, and both are separated by a ring of small solid metal balls. This mechanical arrangement considerably reduces friction. The metal ball used in a 'ball bearing' is also called 'ball bearing'.
