Bar-Cochba

Bar-Cochba, also known as Bar Kokhba or Simeon, was a Jewish rebel leader. As per the Jewish sources, he led the rebellion in AD 132 against the Romans. He was also accepted by some of his Jewish contemporaries as the Messiah.

It should be noted that there were several other persons named Simeon. For example, in the Bible, one Simeon is mentioned as a Hebrew patriarch, the second son of Jacob and Leah.
