Bayard
Bayard, in medieval chivalric romances, was a horse of remarkable swiftness belonging to the four sons of Aymon, and which they sometimes rode all at once. There was also a horse of this name of Amadis de Gaul. The Amadís is mentioned by the Spanish priest and confessor to Maria of Portugal, Queen of Castile Juan García de Castrojeriz in a document dated between 1342 and 1348.
Bayard was also the name of a magical horse of the heroic French knight Pierre Terrail, Seigneur de Bayard (c. 1476 – 1524).
