Bimal Chandra Bhattacharya

Bimal Chandra Bhattacharya was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India, born on April 1, 1912 at Mymensingh, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Bepin Chandra Bhattacharya. He joined Anusheelan Samity in his teens. Remained underground for about one and half years, after which he was arrested on 31.12.1932 in connection with Interprovincial Conspiracy Case. He was deported to Andamans. He took part in second hunger strike in the Cellular Jail - July 1937 and another one at Alipore Central Jail, Calcutta in July 1939. Even after release, he was detained under D.I.R. untill 1945. His total jail period thirteen years.
