Black hole

Black hole is a term in astronomy for a region of space with too intense a gravitational field to allow a a matter or even radiation to escape. A black hole is probably formed after a massive star collapses under its own gravity having exhausted its nuclear fuel. Its gravity increases to such a point that even light itself gets absorbed and it becomes invisible, and hence called black hole.

The term is also used informally for any place where people or things, especially money, disappear without trace.
