Blende

Blende, also called sphalerite, is a mineral, so named because it often resembles galena, ie lead sulfide, but is deceptive in that it yields no lead. 'Blenden' is German literally means 'deceive'. It consists of zinc sulfide. It is a shiny mineral which is found in a range of colours from yellow to dark brown or black.
