Criton

Criton (c. 469 – 4th century BC), also known as Crito of Alopece in ancient Greece, was a rich Athenian, friend and disciple of Socrates (c. 470 – 399 BC). Criton supported Socrates by his fortune, but could not persuade the latter to leave the prison, though the former had procured the means of escape.
