Cronstadt

Cronstadt, also spelled Kronstadt, is a Russian port city in the federal city of St. Petersburg, at the mouth of the Neva. It is a strongly fortified place, and the greatest naval station in the country. It is located on Kotlin Island, 30 km (19 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, near the head of the Gulf of Finland. It is considered absolutely impregnable.
