Dr Bhupal Bose

Dr Bhupal Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was son of Kaminikumar Bose an landlord of Dacca, now in Bangladesh. He joined Revolutionary Party at the age of 11. He was involved in Dalhousie Square bomb case in which a bomb was thrown on the Calcutta Police Commissioner, Charles Tegart on 25.08.1930 at 11 AM. Subsequently, he was arrested and sentenced to fifteen years of rigourous imprisonment and sent to Andaman jail. He joined hunger strike in Cellular Jail that continued for 45 days in 1933 that started on May 12. He was released from jail term under that offence, but again detained under D.I.R. His Total jail period was about 14 years. He breathed his last on 27th February 1981.
